A Toast to Tennessee Wine Festival on the horizon
Annual festival to feature Tennessee wines and gourmet products
Apr 17, 2012, 10:37 a.m.
Hermitage, TN Hosted by the Mt. Juliet/West Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, "A Toast to Tennessee" Wine Festival is set to return to Nashville Shores in Hermitage on Saturday, May 12 from noon until 6 p.m.
The ever-popular annual event will provide visitors with the opportunity to sample some of the Volunteer State's award-winning wines, enjoy live music, gourmet food, seminars and art.
Seminars are intended to aid both newcomers and experienced tasters alike and will be held every hour on the hour, lasting approximately 20 minutes. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. All seminars include sampling (for seated guests only) and are free of charge.
The 2012 Seminar Schedule includes:
1 p.m. - Thinking Inside the Box: Boxed wines are not only cheaper and quicker to chill, they also stay fresh for weeks after opening. This seminar provides the opportunity to sample some of the best boxes on the market.
2 p.m. - Wine Clubs & Trails: Learn more about Tennessee's wine clubs and all they have to offer.
3 p.m. - Brunches: Learn how to pair decadent Tennessee wines with traditional brunch foods.
4 p.m. - Punches: Light and refreshing, wine punches can prove to be a favorite at barbecues and deck parties.
Advanced Tasting Admission to the festival includes a never-ending glass of wine - a complimentary souvenir wine glass and unlimited wine sampling - all wine and food experience seminars, art exhibits, gourmet food tastings and express entry. In advance, a taster's ticket is $20, or four for $60. Group tickets are 20 for $250. But act fast, because these are early bird specials, and ticket prices will go up after April 30.
Non-tasting tickets, also known as designated driver tickets, are $10 each. Kids 12 and older must purchase a non-tasting ticket; kids under 12 are admitted free of charge. Please note that while children are welcome to attend, there are no scheduled children's activities.
