Mt. Juliet, TN Members of the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church recently spent the day volunteering at the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center, according to Linda McClanahan, the center's director.
Church members' generous gifts of service included trimming trees and shrubs, raking leaves, planting new flowers, detail cleaning the kitchen and painting a rocking chair and hand rails on the handicap ramp.
"This was such a wonderful gift," McClanahan said. "We have a very small staff and limited budget, so gifts of service are so appreciated. These are the things that make such a difference in the appearance and warmth of our center."
The mission of the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center is to provide a place for older adults to gather for social, educational and recreational activities and to alleviate isolation and loneliness among the elderly. The center offers over 80 programs and events in arts, crafts, drama, music, education, recreation, wellness, special events and community services. For more information, contact McClanahan at 615-758-9114.
