Smyrna Senior Center to Host Wine, Craft Beer Tasting

The Smyrna Senior Citizens Center will host its second annual Wine Tasting on Friday, Oct. 14 from 5 until 9 p.m., located 100 Raikes Street in Smyrna. This year, craft beer will also be available for tasting. Tickets for the event, "Uncorked and Uncapped," are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Designated driver tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The event is sponsored by Legacy & Wine Spirits in Smyrna. Distributors contributing product for tasting include Delirium Wine & Spirits, DET, Best Brands Inc., Athens, Horizon Wine & Spirits, Bounty Bev, Lipman and Ajax Turner. Local businesses who are sponsoring the event include Jo Jo's Fruit Tea, Legend's Steakhouse, Lube Pros and Seals Electric and Lighting.

The Smyrna Senior Center, a non-profit organization, is a place where seniors age 55 and older can go for educational, recreational and social activities. These activities include a variety of events including Bingo, bridge, dominoes, crafts, speakers, special holiday activities as well as day trips and overnight trips to destinations, not only in Tennessee but all over the United States. The center is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and membership dues are $25 per year.
